حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْأَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ، وَإِنَّكَ حَرَّمْتَ مَكَّةَ عَلَى لِسَانِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، اللَّهُمَّ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ وَإِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا ، قَالَ أَبُو مَرْوَانَ: لَابَتَيْهَا حَرَّتَيْ الْمَدِينَةِ.
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اے اللہ! ابراہیم تیرے خلیل ( گہرے دوست ) اور تیرے نبی ہیں، اور تو نے مکہ کو بزبان ابراہیم حرام ٹھہرایا ہے، اے اللہ! میں تیرا بندہ اور تیرا نبی ہوں، اور میں مدینہ کو اس کی دونوں کالی پتھریلی زمینوں کے درمیان کی جگہ کو حرام ٹھہراتا ہوں ۱؎۔ ابومروان کہتے ہیں: «لابتيها» کے معنی مدینہ کے دونوں طرف کی کالی پتھریلی زمینیں ہیں
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “O Allah! Ibrahim was Your Friend and Prophet, and You declared Makkah to be sacred through Ibrahim. O Allah! I am Your slave and Prophet, and I declare what is between its two lava fields to be sacred.”

They asked: ‘Is it every year?’ He said: ‘No. If I had said yes, it would have become obligatory.’ Then the following was revealed: “O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.’” [5:101]
