حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَنَّاقٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ، فَهِيَ حَرَامٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، لَا يُعْضَدُ شَجَرُهَا وَلَا يُنَفَّرُ صَيْدُهَا وَلَا يَأْخُذُ لُقْطَتَهَا إِلَّا مُنْشِدٌ ، فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ: إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ، فَإِنَّهُ لِلْبُيُوتِ وَالْقُبُورِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِلَّا الْإِذْخِرَ .
صفیہ بنت شیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فتح مکہ کے سال خطبہ دیتے ہوئے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگو! اللہ نے مکہ کو اسی دن حرام قرار دے دیا جس دن اس نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کیا، اور وہ قیامت تک حرام رہے گا، نہ وہاں کا درخت کاٹا جائے گا، نہ وہاں کا شکار بدکایا جائے گا، اور نہ وہاں کی گری پڑی چیز اٹھائی جائے گی، البتہ اعلان کرنے والا اٹھا سکتا ہے ، اس پر عباس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اذخر ( نامی گھاس ) کا اکھیڑنا جائز فرما دیجئیے کیونکہ وہ گھروں اور قبروں کے کام آتی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اچھا اذخر اکھاڑنا جائز ہے ۔
It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said: “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon in the Year of the Conquest (of Makkah), and he said: ‘O people, Allah made Makkah sacred the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it is sacred until the Day of Resurrection. Its trees are not to be cut, its game is not to be disturbed, and its lost property is not to be taken except by one who will announce it.’‘Abbas said: ‘Except for Idhkhir (a kind of fragrant grass), for it is (used) for houses and graves.’ The messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Except for Idhkhir.’”
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Traveling is a kind of torment, it keeps anyone of you from his sleep, food and drink. When anyone of you has fulfilled the purpose for which he travled, let him hasten to return to his family.”

They asked: ‘Is it every year?’ He said: ‘No. If I had said yes, it would have become obligatory.’ Then the following was revealed: “O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.’” [5:101]
