أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ. ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، قال هَنَّادٌ، قال الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ، وَقال سُلَيْمَانُ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قال: أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ، أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ، وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ، وَإِبْرَارِ الْقَسَمِ، وَنُصْرَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ، وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلَامِ، وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي، وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَنَهَانَا عَنْ خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ، وَعَنْ آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ، وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ، وَالْقَسِّيَّةِ، وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ، وَالْحَرِيرِ، وَالدِّيبَاجِ .
براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں سات چیزوں کا حکم دیا، اور سات باتوں سے منع فرمایا: ہمیں آپ نے مریض کی عیادت کرنے، چھینکنے والے کے جواب میں «یرحمک اللہ» کہنے، قسم پوری کرانے، مظلوم کی مدد کرنے، سلام کو عام کرنے، دعوت دینے والوں ( کی دعوت ) قبول کرنے، اور جنازے کے ساتھ جانے کا حکم دیا، اور ہمیں آپ نے سونے کی انگوٹھیاں پہننے سے، چاندی کے برتن ( میں کھانے، پینے ) سے، میاثر، قسّیہ، استبرق ۱؎، حریر اور دیباج نامی ریشمی کپڑوں سے منع فرمایا ہے۔
It was narrated that Al-Bara bin 'Azib said: The Messenger of Allah commanded us to do seven things, and forbade us form seven things. He commanded us to visit the risk, to reply (say: Yarhamuk Allah, may Allah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes, to fulfill our oaths, to support the oppressed, to spread the greeting of Salam, to accept invitation, and to attend funerals. And he forbade us from using gold rings, silver vessels, Mayathir, the Qasiyyah, Al-Istabraq, silk and Ad-Dibaj.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways.
