أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ نَغْسِلُ ابْنَتَهُ، فَقَالَ: اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكِ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكِ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ، فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي، فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ، فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حِقْوَهُ وَقَالَ: أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ ، قَالَ: أَوْ قَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ: اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا، قَالَ: وَقَالَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ: مَشَطْنَاهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ،
ام عطیہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے، ہم آپ کی بیٹی کو غسل دے رہے تھے، آپ نے فرمایا: انہیں پانی اور بیر ( کے پتوں ) سے تین بار، یا پانچ بار، غسل دو ، یا اس سے زیادہ، اور آخری بار کچھ کافور یا کافور کی مقدار ملا لو ( اور ) جب تم فارغ ہو جاؤ تو مجھے آگاہ کرو ، تو جب ہم فارغ ہوئے تو آپ کو خبر کی، آپ نے ہماری طرف اپنا تہبند پھینکا اور فرمایا: اسے ( اس کے جسم سے ) لپیٹ دو ، راوی کہتے ہیں یا حفصہ بنت سیرین کہتی ہیں: اسے تین، پانچ، یا سات بار غسل دو، راوی کہتے ہیں: ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں: ہم نے ان کی تین چوٹیاں کیں۔
It was narrated from Ayyub, from Muhammad, that Umm 'Atiyyah said: The Messenger of Allah came to us when we were washing his daughter. He said: 'Wash her three times, or five, or more than that if you think that (is necessary), with water and lotus leaves, and put camphor, or some camphor in (the water) the last time. And when you have finished, inform me.' When we finished, we informed him and he threw his waist-wrap to us and said: 'Shroud her in it. ' He said: Hafsah said: 'We washed her three, or five, or seven times.' Umm 'Atiyyah said: 'We combed her hair into three braids. '
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways.
