أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا أَتَى نَعْيُ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْرَفُ فِيهِ الْحُزْنُ وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ مِنْ صِئْرِ الْبَابِ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ نِسَاءَ جَعْفَرٍ يَبْكِينَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: انْطَلِقْ فَانْهَهُنَّ فَانْطَلَقَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ، فَقَالَ: قَدْ نَهَيْتُهُنَّ فَأَبَيْنَ أَنْ يَنْتَهِينَ، فَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ فَانْهَهُنَّ فَانْطَلَقَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ، فَقَالَ: قَدْ نَهَيْتُهُنَّ فَأَبَيْنَ أَنْ يَنْتَهِينَ، قَالَ: فَانْطَلِقْ فَاحْثُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِنَّ التُّرَابَ ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَقُلْتُ: أَرْغَمَ اللَّهُ أَنْفَ الْأَبْعَدِ إِنَّكَ وَاللَّهِ مَا تَرَكْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَا أَنْتَ بِفَاعِلٍ.
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ جب زید بن حارثہ، جعفر بن ابی طالب اور عبداللہ بن رواحہ ( رضی اللہ عنہم ) کے مرنے کی خبر آئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیٹھے ( اور ) آپ ( کے چہرے ) پر حزن و ملال نمایاں تھا، میں دروازے کے شگاف سے دیکھ رہی تھی ( اتنے میں ) ایک شخص آیا اور کہنے لگا: جعفر ( کے گھر ) کی عورتیں رو رہی ہیں، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کہا: جاؤ انہیں منع کرو ، چنانچہ وہ گیا ( اور ) پھر ( لوٹ کر ) آیا اور کہنے لگا: میں نے انہیں روکا ( لیکن ) وہ نہیں مانیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: انہیں منع کرو ( پھر ) وہ گیا ( اور پھر لوٹ کر آیا، اور کہنے لگا: میں نے انہیں روکا ( لیکن ) وہ نہیں مان رہی ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جاؤ ان کے منہ میں مٹی ڈال دو ، عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا: میں نے کہا: اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کی ناک خاک آلود کرے جو اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت سے دور ہے، تو اللہ کی قسم! نہ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پریشان کرنا چھوڑ رہا ہے، اور نہ تو یہی کر سکتا ہے ( کہ انہیں سختی سے روک دے ) ۱؎۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: 'When news of the death of Zaid bin Harithah, Ja'far bin Abi Talib and 'Abdullah bin Rawahah was announced, the Messenger of Allah sat down and it could be seen that he was grieving. I was looking through a crack in the door, and a man came and said: 'Ja'far's womenfolk are weeping.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Go and prevent them.' He went away, then he came back, and said: I told them not to do that, but they refused to stop; He said: Go and prevent them; He went away then he came back, and said: I told them not to do that, but they refused to stop. He said: 'Throw dust in their mouths.' Aishah said: I said: 'May Allah rub his nose in the dust, the one who is over there! You did not leave the Messenger of Allah alone but you were not going to do (what he told you to do).
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways.
