حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْمَعْنَى، قَالَا: أخبرنا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّاذَكَرَ أَهْلَ النَّهْرَوَانِ، فَقَالَ: فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ، أَوْ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ، أَوْ مَثْدُونُ الْيَدِ، لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا، لَنَبَّأْتُكُمْ مَا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ، عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ: إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ .
عبیدہ سے روایت ہے کہ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے اہل نہروان ۱؎ کا ذکر کیا اور کہا: ان میں چھوٹے ہاتھ کا ایک آدمی ہے، اگر مجھے تمہارے اترانے کا اندیشہ نہ ہوتا تو میں تمہیں بتاتا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زبان سے کس چیز کا وعدہ کیا ہے ان لوگوں کے لیے جو ان سے جنگ کریں گے، راوی کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: کیا آپ نے اسے اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں رب کعبہ کی قسم۔
Ubaidah (al-salman) said: Ali mentioned about the people of al Nahrawan, saying: Among them there will be a man with a defective hand or with a small hand. if you were not to overjoy. I would inform you of what Allah has promised (the reward for) those who will kill them at the tongue of Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. I asked: Have you heard this from him? He replied: Yes, by the lord of the Kaabah.

There remains no vein and no joint but it penetrates it. ”

Abdullah bin Ka;b bin Malik who used to lead his father from among his sons when he became blind, said: I heard Kaab bin Malik say: The transmitter Ibn al-sarh then narrated the story of his remaining behind from the prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم forbade the Muslims to speak to any of us three. When ( in this state) abundant time passed on me, I ascended the wall of the garden of Abu Qatadah who was my cousin. I saluted him, but, I swear by Allah, he did not return salute to me. He then narrated the story of the revelation of the Quranic verses relating to his repentance.
