حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّكَ تَبْعَثُنَا، فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ فَمَا يَقْرُونَنَا، فَمَا تَرَى ؟، فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَوْمٍ فَأَمَرُوا لَكُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا، فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ حَقَّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: وَهَذِهِ حُجَّةٌ لِلرَّجُلِ يَأْخُذُ الشَّيْءَ إِذَا كَانَ لَهُ حَقًّا.
عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ ہمیں ( جہاد یا کسی دوسرے کام کے لیے ) بھیجتے ہیں تو ( بسا اوقات ) ہم کسی قوم میں اترتے ہیں اور وہ لوگ ہماری مہمان نوازی نہیں کرتے تو اس سلسلے میں آپ کیا فرماتے ہیں؟ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہم سے فرمایا: اگر تم کسی قوم میں جاؤ اور وہ لوگ تمہارے لیے ان چیزوں کا انتظام کر دیں جو مہمان کے لیے چاہیئے تو اسے تم قبول کرو اور اگر وہ نہ کریں تو ان سے مہمانی کا حق جو ان کے حسب حال ہو لے لو ۱؎ ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ اس شخص کے لیے دلیل ہے جس کا حق کسی کے ذمہ ہو تو وہ اپنا حق لے سکتا ہے۔
Uqbah bin Amir said: we said: Messenger of Allah! You send us out and we come to people who do not give hospitality, so what is your opinion? The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If you come to people who order for you what is fitting for a guest, accept it; but if they do not, take from them what is fitting for them to give to a guest. Abu Dawud said: And this is an authority for a man to take a thing if it is due to him.
Abdullah bin Umar reported the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as sayings: when one of you is invited for a wedding feast, he must attend it.
