حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذُكِرَ تَزْوِيجُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ عِنْدَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْلَمَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ مَا أَوْلَمَ عَلَيْهَا أَوْلَمَ بِشَاةٍ .

ثابت کہتے ہیں   انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ام المؤمنین زینب بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا کے نکاح کا ذکر کیا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی بیویوں میں سے کسی کے نکاح میں زینب کے نکاح کی طرح ولیمہ کرتے نہیں دیکھا، آپ نے ان کے نکاح میں ایک بکری کا ولیمہ کیا۔

Thabit said: The marriage of Zainab daughter of Jahsh was mentioned before Anas bin Malik. He said: I did not see that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم held such a wedding feast for any of his wives as he did for her. He held a wedding feast with a sheep.
