حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَسْوَدَ الْعِجْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ جِبْرِيلَ بْنِ أَحْمَرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِيرَاثِهِ، فَقَالَ: الْتَمِسُوا لَهُ وَارِثًا، أَوْ ذَا رَحِمٍ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ وَارِثًا وَلَا ذَا رَحِمٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَعْطُوهُ الْكُبْرَ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ ، وَقَالَ يَحْيَى: قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مَرَّةً يَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ: انْظُرُوا أَكْبَرَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ.
بریدہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں خزاعہ ( قبیلہ ) کے ایک شخص کا انتقال ہو گیا، اس کی میراث رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس لائی گئی تو آپ نے فرمایا: اس کا کوئی وارث یا ذی رحم تلاش کرو تو نہ اس کا کوئی وارث ملا، اور نہ ہی کوئی ذی رحم، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: خزاعہ میں سے جو بڑا ہو اسے میراث دیدو ۔ یحییٰ کہتے ہیں: ایک بار میں نے شریک سے سنا وہ اس حدیث میں یوں کہتے تھے: دیکھو جو شخص خزاعہ میں سب سے بڑا ہو اسے دے دو۔
Narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib: A man of Khuzaah died and his estate was brought to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He said: Look for his heir or some relative. But they found neither heir nor relative. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Give it to the leading man of Khuzaah. The narrator Yahya said: Sometimes I heard him (al-Husayn ibn Aswad) say in this tradition: Look for the greatest man of Khuzaah.
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Knowledge has three categories; anything else is extra; a precise verse, or an established sunnah (practice), or a firm obligatory duty.
