حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ: قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ: حَدَّثْتُ ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قُلْتُ: وَكَذَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: لَا تَعْدِلُ مَنْ سَمَّيْتَ بِمَالِكٍ هَكَذَا أَوْ نَحْوَهُ يَعْنِي مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ.
ولید بن مسلم کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابن مبارک سے یہی حدیث بیان کی، میں نے کہا اور اسی طرح ہم سے ابن ابی فروہ نے نافع کے واسطہ سے بیان کیا ہے تو ابن مبارک نے کہا: جن کا نام تم نے لیا ہے وہ مالک کے برابر نہیں ہو سکتے اسی طرح یا اس جیسی بات انہوں نے کہی، اس سے وہ امام مالک بن انس کو مراد لے رہے تھے۔
