حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ أَبَا الصَّهْبَاءِ، قَالَلِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَا كَانَتْ الثَّلَاثُ تُجْعَلُ وَاحِدَةً عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَثَلَاثًا مِنْ إِمَارَةِ عُمَرَ ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: نَعَمْ .
طاؤس سے روایت ہے کہ ابوصہباء نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا: کیا آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے زمانے میں نیز عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے دور خلافت کے ابتدائی تین سالوں میں تین طلاقوں کو ایک ہی مانا جاتا تھا؟ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے جواب دیا: ہاں ۱؎۔
Tawus said: Abu al-Sahba' said to Ibn Abbas: Do you know that a divorce by three pronouncements was made a single one during the time of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, and of Abu Bakr and in the early days of the caliphate of Umar? He replied: Yes.

Abdullah bin Umar said that he divorced his wife while she was menstruating during the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. So Umar bin Al Khattab asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم about this matter. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said “Order him, he must take her back and keep her back till she is purified, then has another menstrual period and is purified. Thereafter if he desires he may divorce her before having intercourse with her, for that is the period of waiting which Allaah the Glorified has commanded for the divorce of women. ”
