وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ اسْتَفْتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: هَلْ يَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، لِيَتَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ لِيَنَمْ، حَتَّى يَغْتَسِلَ إِذَا شَاءَ»
ابن جریج سے روایت ہے ( کہا : ) مجھے نافع نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہوئے خبر دی کہ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے فتویٰ دریافت کیا اور کہا : کیا ہم میں سے کوئی شخص جنابت کی حالت میں سو سکتا ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ہاں ، وضو کر لے پھر ( اس وقت تک کے لیے ) سو جائے جب وہ غسل کرنا چاہے ۔ ‘ ‘
Ibn 'Umar said: 'Umar asked the verdict of the Shari'ah from the Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) thus: Is it permissible for any one of us to sleep in a state of impurity? He (the Prophet said: Yes, he must perform ablution and then sleep and take a bath when he desires.

A'isha reported: When anyone amongst us was menstruating the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) asked her to tie waist-wrapper daring the time when the menstrual blood profusely flowed and then embraced her; and she ('A'isha) observed: And who amongst you can have control over his desires as the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had over his desires.
