حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدَشِيرِ، فَكَأَنَّمَا صَبَغَ يَدَهُ فِي لَحْمِ خِنْزِيرٍ وَدَمِهِ»
سلیمان کے والد حضرت بریدہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " جس شخص نے چوسر کھیلی تو گویا اس نے اپنے ہاتھ کو خنزیر کے خون اور گو شت سے رنگ لیا ۔ "
Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: He who played Nardashir (a game similar to backgammon) is like one who dyed his hand with the flesh and blood of swine.
`Amr b. Sharid reported his father as saying: One day when I rode behind Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), he said (to me): Do you remember any poetry of Umayya b. Abu Salt. I said: Yes. He said: Then go on. I recited a couplet, and he said: Go on. Then I again recited a couplet and he said: Go on. I recited one hundred couplets (of his poetry). This hadith has been reported on the authority of Sharid through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.
