حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَرْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَوْ يُعْطَى النَّاسُ بِدَعْوَاهُمْ، لَادَّعَى نَاسٌ دِمَاءَ رِجَالٍ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ، وَلَكِنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

  ابن جریج نے ابن ابی ملیکہ سے اور انہوں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اگر لوگوں کو ان کے دعووں کے مطابق دے دیا جائے تو بہت سے لوگ دوسروں کے خون اور ان کے اموال پر دعویٰ کرنے لگیں گے لیکن قسم مدعا علیہ پر ہے

Ibn Abbas reported Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: If the people were given according to their claims, they would claim the lives of persons and their properties, but the oath must be taken by the defendant.
