حَدَّثَنَا عَوْنُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ الْكُوفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَتِرَ مِنْ النَّارِ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ

  عبد اللہ بن معقل نے حضرت عدیبن حاتم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روا یت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فر ما تے ہو ئے سنا : " تم میں سے جو شخص آگ سے محفوظ رہنے کی استطا عت رکھے چا ہے کھجور کے ایک ٹکڑے کے ذریعے سے کیوں نہ ہو وہ ضرور ( ایسا ) کرے ۔

Adi b. Hatim reported that he heard Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) as saying: He who among you can protect himself against Fire, he should do so, even if it should be with half a date.
