حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ دَخَلُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ فَلَعَنْتُهُمْ ، فَقَالَ : مَا لَكِ ، قُلْتُ : أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ مَا قَالُوا ، قَالَ : فَلَمْ تَسْمَعِي مَا قُلْتُ وَعَلَيْكُمْ .
ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ایوب سختیانی نے، ان سے ابن ابی ملیکہ نے اور ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ بعض یہودی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آئے اور کہا «السام عليك.» ( تم پر موت آئے ) میں نے ان پر لعنت بھیجی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا بات ہوئی؟“ میں نے کہا کیا انہوں نے ابھی جو کہا تھا آپ نے نہیں سنا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کیا اور تم نے نہیں سنا کہ میں نے اس کا کیا جواب دیا «وعليكم» یعنی تم پر بھی وہی آئے ( یعنی میں نے کوئی برا لفظ زبان سے نہیں نکالا صرف ان کی بات ان ہی پر لوٹا دی ) ۔“
Narrated `Aisha: Once the Jews came to the Prophet and said, Death be upon you. So I cursed them. The Prophet said, What is the matter? I said, Have you not heard what they said? The Prophet said, Have you not heard what I replied (to them)? (I said), ('The same is upon you.')

Hadith 2782
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: I asked Allah's Apostle, O Allah's Apostle! What is the best deed? He replied, To offer the prayers at their early stated fixed times. I asked, What is next in goodness? He replied, To be good and dutiful to your parents. I further asked, what is next in goodness? He replied, To participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause. I did not ask Allah's Apostle anymore and if I had asked him more, he would have told me more.

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, I do not find such a deed. Then he added, Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast? The man said, But who can do that? Abu- Huraira added, The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.

Allah's Apostle replied A believer who strives his utmost in Allah's Cause with his life and property. They asked, Who is next? He replied, A believer who stays in one of the mountain paths worshipping Allah and leaving the people secure from his mischief.
