حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا خَيْرَ الْبَرِيَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذَلِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، نَحْوَهُ.

مختار بن فلفل کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا: «يا خير البرية» ! اے تمام مخلوق میں بہتر! آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہیں“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Anas bin Malik narrated that: A man said to the Prophet: “O best of creatures!” So he said: “That is Ibrahim.”
