حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ الحلواني، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ، فَقُومُوا لَهَا فَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلَا يَقْعُدَنَّ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: حَدِيثُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُ: أَحْمَدَ، وَإِسْحَاق، قَالَا: مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً فَلَا يَقْعُدَنَّ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ عَنْ أَعْنَاقِ الرِّجَالِ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَتَقَدَّمُونَ الْجَنَازَةَ فَيَقْعُدُونَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْتَهِيَ إِلَيْهِمُ الْجَنَازَةُ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُ: الشَّافِعِيِّ.
ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جب تم جنازہ دیکھو تو اس کے لیے کھڑے ہو جایا کرو۔ اور جو اس کے ساتھ جائے وہ ہرگز نہ بیٹھے جب تک کہ جنازہ رکھ نہ دیا جائے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابو سعید خدری کی حدیث اس باب میں حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہی احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا بھی قول ہے۔ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ جو کسی جنازے کے ساتھ جائے، وہ ہرگز نہ بیٹھے جب تک کہ جنازہ لوگوں کی گردنوں سے اتار کر رکھ نہ دیا جائے، ۳- صحابہ کرام وغیرہم میں سے بعض اہل علم سے مروی ہے کہ وہ جنازے کے آگے جاتے تھے اور جنازہ پہنچنے سے پہلے بیٹھ جاتے تھے۔ اور یہی شافعی کا قول ہے۔
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: Whenever you see a funeral (procession), stand up (for it). Whoever follows it, then do not sit down until it is put down.

Thuwair [and he is Ibn Abi Fakhitah] narrated that : His father said: Ali took me by the hand and said: 'Come with us to pay a visit to Al-Hasan.' So we found that Abu Musa was with him.' Ali - peace be upon him - said: 'O Abu Musa! Did you come to visit (the sick) or merely (stop by to) visit?' He said: 'No, to visit (the sick).' So Ali said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: No Muslim visits (the sick) Muslims in the morning, except that sevety-thousand angels, sent Salat upon him until the evening, and he does not visit at night except that seventy thousand angels sent Salat upon him until the morning, and there will be a garden for him in Paradise.
